Welkom op de website van Hugo van der Kooij.
Deze website is tweetalig in de opmaak. Het linker tekstblok zal de nederlandse tekst bevatten en het rechter tekstblok zal de engelstalige tekst bevatten indien u geen passende taal heeft geselecteerd in uw webbrowser.
Heeft u uw taal voorkeur in uw browser vastgelegd dan ziet u alleen de Nederlandse tekst. Mocht een bepaalde pagina niet in het Nederlands beschikbaar zijn dan kun u altijd expliciet voor de Engelse tekst kiezen via de voorkeur setting rechtsboven in de zwarte balk. (Deze keuze is alleen voor de pagina zelf en zal niet bewaard worden.)
De top balk (rood) bevat de titel van de betreffende pagina in de gekozen taal.
De info balk (zwart) toont links de 'broodkruimels' (Het pad waarmee u naar de betreffende pagina kunt gaan via het menu) en rechts de taal keuzes als u expliciet een andere taal wilt kiezen voor de huidige pagina.
Daarna komt het reclame blok omdat ik de kosten van de site een klein beetje wil drukken.
Het hoofd blok is dan verdeeld in een linker kolom voor het menu en de rest van de pagina voor de inhoud.
Helaas heeft Internet Explorer 6 een tekortkoming waardoor een correct opgemaakte pagina juist door de nog slechtere Internet Explorer 5 code wordt afgehandeld. De opmaak van de site is in dat geval niet optimaal. Als je daar een probleem mee hebt kan ik je alleen adviseren om een betere webbrowser te nemen. Internet explorer 7 wordt niet zo geplaagd door dit soort bugs en ook firefox werkt correct. Ik ga geen onmogelijke truken uitzoeken om de opmaak geschikt te maken voor een defecte webbrowser.

This website will contain two languages. The left text section will contain the Dutch text and the right hand section will be english if you did not set a matching language in your browser.
If you did select a matching language in your webbrowser you will be presented only with the content in English. If a selected page is not available in English you can explicitly select the alternative language in the top right hand of the page in the black bar. (This choice is only for the page itself and will not be stored.)
The top bar (red) contains the titel of the page in the selected language.
the info bar (black) contains the 'breadcrumbs' on the left hand side (breadcrumbs show the path through the menu system) and on the right hand side you will find the language selection if you wish to slect a language explicitly for the current page.
The advertisement block is to cover some of the costs involved in running this site.
The main section contains a menu in the left hand column and the content of the pages is on the remainder of the page.
Unfortunatly Internet Explorer 6 has a design flaw that prevents it from correctly handling standard pages but it will call upon the even worse Internet Explorer 5 engine to do this instead. The layout of this site is not optimized for these browsers. Should you suffer from his then you have to get a better browser. Both Internet Explorer 7 and firefox do not suffer from this kind of bugs and they will show it right. I will not try and invent tricks to circumvent defective webbrowsers.
